Hi. My name is Mary Vela. People often ask me how I came up with the Luv-Beams dolls. The idea for my Luv-Beams dolls came to me in a very amazing way.

I awoke in the middle of the night with the vision of three adorable little creatures that appeared to be from ‘out of this world’. It was essentially a dream. But unlike other dreams I have had, they really touched my heart and their cute little faces and the feeling of love stayed with me for some time. So I decided – ‘I am going to make these loveable beings a reality!’ And that is exactly what I have done.

I made the first dolls out of materials from around my house: gray panty hose stuffed with polyester filling, cotton balls for the antennae and buttons for the eyes. I showed the dolls to friends and at new product shows and they received lots of attention. As a result, a newspaper article was written about my dolls and local TV news stories were aired. My phone rang off the wall with requests to buy the dolls! But I did not have a manufacturer at the time so orders could not be filled.

The attention my dolls received encouraged me to take the next step and find a manufacturer that would help me bring my Luv-Beams to life. I then found someone to help me design a website (where you are now) so that I could share my dolls with the world.

My inspiration has continued, and I have written stories and poems with messages of love and learning from the perspective of these innocent and curious little creatures. Please come back to this site in the near future to read or download free Luv-Beams stories and poems.

I’ve been told these dolls can be the next doll craze, but I just want people to enjoy them and feel the love they are intended to bring. I am thankful I was given this inspiration and the courage to follow my dream. I hope my story inspires others to pursue their own dreams and that my dolls and their stories beam lots of love to Earth!
